Cherry MX Board 6.0 price and availability announced

CherryMXBoard6.0

Being the masterminds behind most gaming keyboard switches you can forgive Cherry for how long it has taken to finally release a keyboard that is aimed at gamers. The Cherry MX Board 6.0 is just that and Cherry have made a few changes under the hood to help it in a very crowded market.

Unfortunately it does not have RGB switches, but it does have Real Key Technology, which is Cherry’s new way of registering the keypresses on the keyboard. Rather than a digital signal processing mechanism, Real Key uses “fully analog signal processing”, something Cherry have been stated as helping shorten the delay from an average of 20ms to just 1ms.

Finally though, Cherry have announced that the MX Board 6.0 is expected to arrive in its first variant around May of this year. This initial batch will be use MX Red switches and have a red back light (status keys will be bi-colour and will show blue when activated), other switch configurations are expected later this year.

The price? Around £150, aside from the back light you do get an aluminium top case, a detachable magnetic wrist rest, the usual Anti-Ghosting and Full N-Key Rollover. Oh before I forget you also get a 2-year warranty. Which all make for a nicely priced item.

Below is the video showing a few more of the features in slightly more detail and the full specs are also linked.
