Saints Row : Gat Out of Hell expansion announced

After struggling through Saints Row 2 Co-Op to having a blast in Saints Row the Third and Saints Row 4 (and associated DLC) I am extremely excited to see yet another crazy return to the Saints universe announced.

Called Saints Row : Gat Out of Hell it sees you take on the guise of the legendary Gat himself (or Kinzie if in Co-Op). Tasked with retrieving the boss from the depths of Hell and yes you heard that right.

Due to be released early 2015 the title will run you around $20 and will be released for PC (PCMasterrace), PlayStation 3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

The synopsis reads as crazy as more recent entries to the franchise, and although reports are saying the game area will be smaller than Steelport evident from the video is the ability to sprout wings and fly!

Johnny Gat and Kinzie Kensington embark on a quest to save The President/God Emperor of the Universe from Hell’s infernal city of New Hades. After teaming up with former enemy Dane Vogel, they learn The Boss is going to be forced to marry Satan’s daughter! The Saints must conquer the demon-infested city and save their friend before it is too late.

I have to say that I really can’t wait to be able to perform some of the crazy takedowns and use some of the very special looking weapons from the video. Especially if I get to play it in a Co-Op as Saints Row games in general are excellent when played in this manner as the humour makes for very fun gameplay.

I had to post about this. This was one of my favourite games growing up and I remember it fondly. Although I was shocked to see that it was getting the HD remake treatment of other games. From the few images released so far, it has kept a lot of the look and feel of the original game, though...
