Insomnia 55 is near!
In a few short weeks on August bank holiday, the Ricoh Arena will once again be playing host to the UK’s biggest gaming festival; Insomnia 55. This years summer event is expected to be bigger and better than past years and has a massive amount of exhibitors announced among the impressive list of guests. I will be attending this years event after securing a ticket for the weekend, though I will only be attending the Saturday and Sunday.
The event plays host to one of the biggest gaming LANs in the UK with tournaments for Counter Strike, Heroes of the Storm and DOTA2 for the teams out there to compete in; with a combined total of over £30000 in prize money up for grabs means it is going to be well worth the effort for the eventual victors.
For the rest of us, the event hall will have some amazing things on show as well. Including the usual heavy hitters of the PC component market. This includes Cooler Master who will no doubt be bringing some awesome modded cases and peripherals and Ducky, to what is their second event; with new peripherals in the wings, their should be some interesting things from their nest – I hope they have a Ducky Secret :D.
Of course CCL Computers will be attending yet again; one of the many retailers at iSeries and one that will continue a near perfect attendance record at the events. Expect T-Shirts and epic deals for attendees.

Cosplay will be a bigger thing at this years event as they hold a prize Cosplay masquerade on the Saturday. With the winner picking up a £100 GAME gift card, a 3D printed model courtesy of Backface, plus 2 x Weekend Festival tickets to Insomnia56. Beyond this special cosplay guests will be making appearances throughout the weekend.
I personally cannot wait for the Pub Quiz! and to meet a few familiar faces. Hopefully I will be finally able to get my hands on that Novatouch!
