Play Expo 2017 – Oct 14-15

Play Expo 2017

The Play Expo is back once again for another year. Moved slightly to the 14 and 15th of October, but still at the brilliant Event City in Manchester and as always it is aiming to be bigger and better than ever.

Indie Gaming will be making a return with a number of studios debuting some amazing looking games. Some of which I will aim to play with my partner in crime DanLeVan. Nippon Marathon is the one I am most interested in due to its Japan theme and Takeshi Castle influences. Play Expo staple WulverBlade will also be making a return, it is an awesome side scrolling beatemup with lots of blood and death.

Various cosplay events will be running over the weekend and I will be taking pictures once again. So if you see me make sure to say hi! If you want to see some of last years stuff, the Cosplay lip sync battles were some of my favourites however I also took a fair number of cosplay photos which I will be hoping to increase again this year!

Over 100 arcade cabinets are also expected to be available to play over the event and although it is a slim chance that Thunder Cross II will be there, I hope to at least beat one of the gun games with Dan to act as our Thunder Cross replacement. Hopefully Time Crisis, which will be a nice feeling without pumping lots of ££ into it.

There will be a number of more announcements over the next two weeks until the event. One of the best things for any retro collector however will be the trader zone where you can hope to pick up something that might be missing from your collection, or even start a new collection!

Though if you don’t have time for any of that I would advise paying the £5 to at least take part in The Dark Room, hosted by the very awesome John Robertson. I will let the man himself show you why you should take the time to play it.

You can find out more and buy those all important tickets over at www.PlayExpoManchester.com/Tickets and also make sure to check out the Play Expo Facebook page over at www.facebook.com/playexpomanchester/ for the all important updates til the event itself!
