OCZ Arc 100 240GB SSD Review

Conclusion

The build quality of the ARC100 especially the metal casing make for a quality feel overall. In the tests performed the speed of the drive whilst not amazingly fast, are respectable from a value orientated drive.

One of the main improvements over past OCZ drives, and something that will inspire confidence to users is the ShieldPlus warranty included with the drive itself. The ARC100 reviewed is covered by a three-year warranty but the ShieldPlus improves on the standard RTB. If a representative determines the drive to be faulty, OCZ will ship an advanced replacement and a pre-paid postage label to the user so that minimal interruption is caused.

OCZ have had an interesting time these past few years, and the road for them has been especially rocky. I can see with the ARC100 they are aiming squarely for the people who want an affordable drive with respectable performance. The ARC100 hits these targets well and the added warranty makes for a solid package.

Overall I am happy to give the ARC100 a choice award!
