Mistel X-VIII – Mechanical Keyboard Review

In Conclusion

A good solid addition to the Mistel lineup, their first full sized keyboard takes a no frills approach to everything.

It lacks the blinding RGB other manufacturers eschew but has lovely PBT keycaps to keep the typing experience at a premium level.

The use of these PBT keycaps and OEM Cherry MX switches mean that you’d be forgiven for never needing to buy another keyboard for your machine, it is simply built to last.

Lack of additional cable routing and no included BT adaptor are the only slight physical negatives I can pin on the Mistel and these are only slight issues.

I would have liked some additional software control for the Macro features, having a quicker option to configure them would make it that little bit easier and potentially allow for more profiles saved on the PC.

One thing to note is that if you are swapping from a regular Cherry MX keyboard the slightly shorter travel may take a slight bit of getting used to. At least it did for me….

Overall a very good entry from Mistel and an excellent first full size keyboard from them.

It has been released but has not yet hit the shores of the UK for sale. You can take a look at it on the American Amazon page below (non affiliate link) or take a look at some of the other Mistel Keyboards available in the UK (affiliate link)
